12 Hour Crop

It's late but I wanted to give a quick shout out to my wonderful friends that help me pack up, clean up and "ship out" after each monthly crop. C and A and A, helped me soooo much tonight! Thank you all for your help this evening!!! I really appreciate it. I keep forgetting to take pictures of all of us doing our thing, darn it! You would think in a room full of scrappers there would be someone who brings a camera! Maybe it's because of the amount of stuff that we all bring already is incredible. But it's so much fun to play with. If you weren't there, you should be. We have the best time! Thanks again girls (all of you) for coming. I hope we can have it next month (I'll be emailing everyone soon.) Night.

They just don't get it . . . .

I was just talking with a friend who lost her mom about 3 months ago. She had a bad "night" last night and was wondering if that was "normal." Well having lost my mom more than 7 years ago, I assured her that it was and that most likely that would not be the last time she would have a bad time. At least not for a long time. We discussed how the DH wasn't much help (granted he was an hour away) at the time. I recalled how it was hard on my marriage when my mom died and it wasn't until my DH's mom died that he began to realize the "process." And for him, it was VERY different. Can I just say to everyone that is still going through the loss of someone to please not hold it against someone who has not gone through it if they don't help much because they "just don't get it!" It's not just a "man" thing and I'm not being mean when I say that because I was there. . . . I didn't get it either before I went through it. This all brings me to a saying that I've seen on a sister CTMH consultant's tag line that says, "We go through what we go through to help others go through what we've been through." Hopefully because I have gone through it, I will be some sort of comfort to others that are going through it now. And with that I pray . . . . Father in Heaven, Comfort those that are in distress over the loss of a loved one. Help them to feel Your loving arms around them and to feel Your love and Your peace within. Help them to realize the hard times we go through will eventually help us comfort and support someone else at a time when we are ready. Lord, help us also to remember the one who has passed with kindness and love and to be able to forgive and let go of old wounds we may still be carrying. These things I ask in your gracious name. Amen.

Something to check out. . . .

We'll here's my first attempt to add some
"inspiration" for your scrapbooking pleasure. This will be the first post with a photo in it so here goes. . . . . .

These are all CTMH products, the swirls, word "beautiful" and parentheses are the Dimensional Elements sponge daubed and then "stamped".

Here is a closer look of the left side:

And here's a closer look at the right:

Enjoy!

Typical Thursay this Summer . . . . . . . .

Thursdays are my "golf" day. (If you really know me, you will know how utterly incredible it sounds for me to say that!) Incredible because for the last few years, I have been in many, many arguments with my DH about the amount of time he spends on the "course." He loves it and if we are both being honest, we'd admit that he's addicted to it. Well, it definitely is not an addiction for me but I AM enjoying it. My friend PW and I kept saying that we should start (this began about 2 summers ago) and this year we finally got it together. We started with her taking a lesson and then she taught me what the pro taught her (that tells you how "cheap" I am!). Our DHs have helped a lot too with pointers here and there. At first we just wanted to "practice" and we pretty much stayed on the driving range and putting and chipping greens. Now we have advanced to actually playing 9 holes (11 today) a couple of times a week (when it works out schedule-wise.) The man in brown just dropped off 2 CTMH orders so I got to get those separated and delivered. Happy Thursday!

Thanks to Him!!!

Okay, I finally did it! I finished setting up this blog; at least to the way that I wanted it to look for now! I'm so excited. Can you believe "excited" since over on the right it will tell you just how intimidated I was to even start this endeavor! It just goes to show that prayer really does work (see previous post!)

Lord, help, please

Okay to some, this might not be the type of prayer you would pray but I need some help here and since I don't understand, I'm going to ask. . . . Dear God, Please afford me the intelletual insight that I need to figure out how to make the changes to this blog page that I would like to make so that my "viewers" are able to navigate it more easily! The information on html is difficult and confusing; please help me to see things more clearly. These things I ask in His name. Amen.

Assorted Notions

This page could be ANYTHING! You just never know what I might want to rant. . . uhmmmm, write about so check it out from time to time. Smile!

Prayers

This page will contain prayers. Some that I pray for myself, more for others and any that you would like to ask for or share yourself. Feel free to add any and all that you desire and know that if you post here, I will definitely be speaking to God on your behalf! God bless.

Epic Recollections

This page will most likely be for musings and memories of days long gone by. I had a whole other life before I married (the second time) and settled down to the life I have now. And while I am very happy with my life today, sometimes, I like to reminisce about my "other life." There were some really fun times back then and I might just want to share some of it with you!

Scrap Artwork

Look here for inspiration or samples of scrapbook pages that either I have created, copied, borrowed or just "stole" from someone else. I will make every attempt to give credit where credit is due but from this date backward, there are no guaratees that I will have any idea where I got the idea, pagemap or sample layout for what I created. MOST of the time, I use an idea or pagemap and make it my own with different paper, different embellishments or simply re-arranging it to fit my photos, etc. Please feel free to copy exactly anything that is "mine" (other's artwork will be labeled) but I would appreciate credit if you post it or share it anywhere other than your own albums. Thanks

Family Matters

These postings will be where you look to see what's going on with the Blankenship family if you are interested.

OOPS

I had a post here that I started with but whilst I was re-arranging the look of this blog today it all got deleted. ???? Basically it said that I'm not sure where this blog will go from here but hopefully it will develop into something that will inspire, uplift, motivate or serve someone in some manner at some time. Bare with me as I get going. . . . . .
